Wow. What a great race! Well organized and a heck of a lot of fun. And incredibly challenging. I’ve done both the Assault of Mt. Mitchell and the Mt. Washington Bicycle Hill Climb this year and I would put it on a par with both those races for degree of difficulty. I would not change a thing for next year. Thanks very much for putting it on. By the way, I loved the Story Inn so much that I plan to take my family there this winter for for an overnight trip. Thanks again!

Great ride. Course was good. It provided options for everyone, but was a good length for a nice challenge. Given its name, keep with primarily gravel roads. Trail length was good, but not necessary to add more. The majority gravel road keeps this ride unique from other rides. Great for this time of year. Thanks.

I loved this event…Our little group did not race but rode this as a tour. The terrain was terrific and challenging, we had a blast. Beers in the great Story Inn bar afterward capped off a great day. I will definitely put it on the calendar for next year.

Fantastic effort pulling this together, Mike. I wouldn’t change a thing – great venue, great route, great time. And I might be an oddball, but I enjoy the self-supported aspect of it all (not that the volunteers weren’t also great). Have I mentioned that everything was great? Thanks!

I anticipate this race becoming very popular. It caters to the MTB’ers, Crosser’s, and Roadies. If you live in Indiana and not around Brown County, these climbs will shatter all of your egos. Or maybe only mine
. However, I would like to share a few thoughts. Maybe start the race an hour or so earlier. That way we could have a little more time to have post race activities. Also, if this race were to take off and become a favorite among the racers, there should be an accurate way of keeping everyones time. Including the non finishers. Also, if this becomes popular the way I feel it will, it would be nice to have different awards for finishers. It may be cool for a semi pro to finish this race in 3.5 hrs, but what about the average rider/racer that goes all out and finishes in 4 hrs? Just a thought. Anyways, I will ride this next year. Very organized. And for 10 bucks after Thanksgiving……we should just give thanks to be able to partake in this activity to burn off the Turkey Day calories. God knows the 5K Turkey Trot is a joke. LOL, Just Joking>>>>>

Wow, how did I not know about this ride until after the fact? I really want to do it next year. Please put me on any email list you may have. David Krahulik

i loved the format. i would leave it just like it is. my only complaint was the lack of markings coming back out of the woods and into the finish. i am directionally challenged. they may have been there but lack of oxygen made them invisible. distance was fine. to do a shorter nonrace loop detracts from being able to say “i finished the gravel grovel”. the amount of trails was just about perfect. the guys on cross bikes were slower through there, and equalized things a little bit. loved the ride. I’ll will be back for years to come.
